Richard Shadyac, ALSAC President and CEO, Set to Join Tau Kappa Epsilon

INDIANAPOLIS - Tau Kappa Epsilon is proud to announce that ALSAC President and CEO, Richard Shadyac, Jr., will become a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity at Conclave 2022 in Houston.

TKE Chief Executive Officer, Donald E. Aldrich, shared, "One of our most proud relationships is the 50 year partnership with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We are honored to initiate Richard and know that he embodies our values of love, charity and esteem. By accepting our offer of membership, the connection between our two organizations will only deepen."

ALSAC (American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities) was founded by Danny Thomas in 1957 to be the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, with the sole objective of raising the funds and awareness necessary to support the mission of St. Jude: Finding cures. Saving children.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Shadyac was named as the sixth CEO of ALSAC in July 2009. Richard C. Shadyac, Sr. was a confidant to Danny Thomas and one of the first members of the Board when St. Jude opened in the early 1960s. Thanks to his father’s early involvement with St. Jude, he grew up knowing the importance of the St. Jude mission, and at a young age he began collecting money to support children with cancer.

Shadyac has led ALSAC to incredible success, directing strategic initiatives that have more than tripled fundraising income and boosted St. Jude as an iconic brand since his arrival. As a result of Shadyac's vision and leadership, St. Jude was named the Top Health Nonprofit Brand of the Year for nine years in a row by Harris Poll Equitrend.

In his acceptance letter, Shadyac wrote, in part, "Please accept my heartfelt gratitude for the invitation to become an Honorary Member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. I am humbled to accept this esteemed honor to join the founder of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Danny Thomas, as a Frater to the amazing brothers of Tau Kappa Epsilon... Thank you again for this incredible honor and I look forward to the initiation at Conclave 2022 in July."
