“It is my great honor to have the confidence of the TKE Foundation Board of Directors to lead them. I look forward to working with the Board, and our Venerable Grand Prytanis Jim Hickey and the Grand Council to carry out our mandate to support the Fraternity and our young men, particularly in this time of great uncertainty,” TKE Foundation Chairman Jim Crockard shared. “To my good friend and predecessor Elmer Smith, thank you from all of TKE Nation for the outstanding support you have provided us with through your time, talent and treasure. We are all deeply indebted to you and will be forever grateful.”

In recognition of his commitment and generous service to the TKE Foundation for over 13 years, Elmer R. Smith was elected Chairman Emeritus. Joining the TKE Foundation Board of Directors in 2007, Frater Smith became Chairman in 2016. Under his leadership, the Foundation initiated the $1,000,000 Elmer Smith match to fully endow the Charles R. Walgreen Jr. TKE Leadership Academy and most recently ended its fiscal year on a historic note, having received some of the highest donor support TKE has seen in over a decade and raising over $1.9 million in cash gifts. In the Chairman Emeritus role, Elmer will remain an active member of the TKE Foundation Board and continue to provide exceptional support and guidance to benefit current and future generations of Tekes.
