Staff of TKE - Tanner Shelton

INDIANAPOLIS - In the summer of 2010, a photographer named Brandon began taking photos of thousands of New Yorkers. His goal was to put a face to the image that people had of the different New York boroughs and its inhabitants. As if overnight, Humans of New York became a worldwide sensation.
We looked at the Humans of New York project and realized we faced a similar challenge. Many individuals outside of the Fraternity's immediate points of contact do not truly know who is answering the phone, posting on social media or handling various tasks at the organizational level. For that reason, we are excited to launch a new edition of "Staff of TKE." Every two weeks we will highlight a new individual on TKE's Professional Staff. Each post will include two photos and a candid conversation. Enjoy!

We have to start the conversation by talking about the Royals in the playoffs.
Last night's loss was a tough one, but we're going to come back and win the series. I have a good feeling that once we take care of the Astros, we'll continue our streak to the World Series. Of course, I expect us to win this year now that the Giants are already home.
Who is your college football team?
Oh, Mizzou, of course! They've had a tough start to the season, but like the Astros, they'll come back with a strong finish. Drew Lock, our redshirt freshman quarterback, is coming out of the gates firing. He's the real deal. The rest of the SEC should be worried, except Leonard Fournette from LSU. He's okay.
Have you read any good books lately?
Funny you ask. I started the Art of War by Sun Tzu the other day. I've been wanting to read it for a while and I just got my hands on a copy. Now I'll have something to read between chapter visits this month, although my schedule for October is packed.
What does your calendar look like for October?
I'll be flying to Oklahoma next week and then heading to the Gateway Province Forum, which is being held at the Beta-Theta chapter house at the University of Missouri. After that, I'll be making twelve chapter visits throughout Texas.
How has the semester been up to this point?
It's been great. I've had a lot of great visits and positive interactions with chapters and colonies throughout the Midwest. I'm extremely excited to see the work of our members and how they continue to better themselves and their communities every day.
What are you looking forward to this year?
I'm looking forward to making an impact on TKE Nation by improving membership numbers, boosting KRA scores and having my chapters dominate their respective campus.
What's the last word?
I'd be remorse if I didn't make a mention of the the Official TKE App that I purposely placed on my computer during this photoshoot. I also encourage all the readers out there to follow me on Instagram at @Tanner_Shelton. I'll be sharing photos from my adventures daily. Finally, I'm looking forward to working with chapters and colonies as we continue to better our Fraternity.
The next edition of "Staff of TKE" will appear Friday, October 23.
