Grand Prytanis Announces Housing Subcommittee Members

INDIANAPOLIS –Venerable Grand Prytanis Dr. James Hickey (Zeta-Alpha, Wagner College) has announced appointees to the "blue ribbon" subcommittee to create legislative policy in order to facilitate recommendations of James R. Favor Insurance Company regarding legal liability that may exist as a result chapter housing and chapter corporations serving in dual capacities.

During the Second Session of the Grand Chapter at Conclave 2019 in Orlando, Florida, Frater Hickey proposed the creation of a committee to review the proposed legislation regarding our liability on housing and chapter corporations. This ad-hoc committee will serve as a subcommittee of the Grand Council's Risk Committee, chaired by Grand Grammateus Ryan Vescio.

The committee will make a recommendation to the Venerable Grand Prytanis, upon which the Grand Council can act, no later than Friday, September 20, 2019. The following Fraters are hereby appointed to this committee:

The Grand Prytanis has tasked the committee to review, vet, and finalize proposed legislation concerning the separation of local chapter and housing corporations. This "blue ribbon" committee will function as a subcommittee Grand Council Risk Committee, which will present its final recommendations to the full Grand Council for enactment. The development and implementation of recruitment efforts for alumni to serve on these boards will be referred to the Grand Council Programs Committee and the Alumni Advisory Committee for review.
