THE TEKE Magazine, Spring 2019, This Is My Story
We must all go through loss. It is an irrefutable fact of life. In the Editor's Letter for our spring 2019 issue, our Editor shared his loss with our readers. Over several preceding issues, he had shared pieces of his journey within his letters. In this letter, however, he removed any sense of separation between professional staff member with duties to the organization and his role as a member of our organization whose brothers were everpresent during his tragedy. This letter serves as an honest declaration of appreciation for the family that you gain when joining a Greek organization and gratitude for the support that TKE provided in his time of need. It serves as a tangible expression of the brotherhood that is often spoken of but not always realized.
Video Presentation – Educational (First Place)
The TKE Bone Marrow Transplant - 10 Million in 10 Years
Judges comments:
“This is a fantastic, extremely high-quality video. While the video is geared toward TKE brothers, it has a broad appeal. The music hits the mark, and the interviews are spot-on. The interviews with fraternity staff provide the needed background and other information while the interviews with children and families pull at the heartstrings. Great incorporation of fraternity values, including "better men for a better world" and the idea of TKE brothers standing behind Danny's dream. Beyond the fraternity, it ties to "real life" ideals. Best of all for a cause that could be grim, the video ends on a high and hopeful note. ”
“The video establishes TKE's philanthropic mission and provides a great tie-in to St. Jude founder/ TKE brother Danny Thomas. It presents compelling statistics, a clear need and impressive impact while clearly conveying TKE is not content to sit on its laurels. ”
