2018-2019 TKE Educational Foundation Top Scholarship Recipients

CHARLES R. WALGREEN, JR. LEADERSHIP AWARD
Adam Kozloski
Gamma-Theta
University of Florida

“My experiences in student government and Florida Blue Key working with set budgets and bureaucracy to achieve my goals will be essential to my career. The connections and public speaking skills I have made through TKE, Hispanic Heritage Month, and Assembly for Action have been invaluable and will assist me in both my career and in the remainder of my college career. Finally, the leadership skills that I continue to work on daily will be essential to not only getting elected but in passing legislation that I am passionate about as a congressional staffer regarding Digital Privacy Rights. I will forever be grateful for the experiences and opportunities that I have had and continue to work with through TKE and my collegiate activities. ”

JOHN A. COURSON TOP SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
Amir Kaskas
Iota-Theta
Centenary College of Louisiana

“For the past two and a half years, the Iota Theta chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon has been the most important factor in my personal growth and development. Lacking an interest in parties or Greek life in general, I did not intend to pick up a bid when I signed up for recruitment. However, I heard Frater Trey Davis express something that stuck out to me the night I met the brothers of TKE: the chapter is not a mold, it is a platform for one to grow and learn from.”

CHARLES R. WALGREEN JR. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Chase Howard
Omicron-Sigma
Indiana University Southeast

“I am truly indebted and eternally grateful for all that Tau Kappa Epsilon has done for me. I have improved in all aspects of my life by leaps and bounds, impressing my family, friends, and professors along the way. By taking a look into the past, I am truly able to see how much TKE has impacted my social, personal, and professional life. I have become more reliable, more intelligent, and more successful than I thought I could ever be. I could have never imagined an organization that could do more for me than TKE, and I am extremely thankful I can give back to my chapter after all it has done for me. By serving as Prytanis, I hope and expect to provide these same benefits unconditionally to all members in my chapter. I hope to take the steps and processes necessary to assist each of my men in becoming better men for a better world, just as my mentors did for me.”

RONALD REAGAN LEADERSHIP AWARD
Timothy Cucci
Epsilon-Beta
University of Tampa

“None of these (leadership) opportunities would have been possible if it wasn’t for my membership in Tau Kappa Epsilon. I know that during my time at UT, I have achieved academic success because of being a TEKE. It is because of that success that I am confident that I will be able to surpass my career goals in the future. TKE has given me so much already, and I cannot wait to use all that I have learned in my future career role.”

GREG & CAY WOODSON LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP
James (Austin) Wagner
Lambda-Upsilon
Georgia Southern University

"My decision to rush Tau Kappa Epsilon has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Throughout my first few years of college, I always thought fraternities were about partying. However, it wasn’t until one of my classmates introduced me to TKE that I realized that I was wrong about one fraternity. Tau Kappa Epsilon has helped me develop my leadership skills, teamwork skills, and presentation skills. I’ve been a member of TKE for almost a year, and as I reflect on my time as an active member, not many Fraters have been able to serve as their chapter’s Philanthropy Chairman, Epiprytanis, Homecoming King candidate, while attending Leadership Academy and Regional Leadership Conference."
