Epsilon-Rho Colony at Northern Arizona Established
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Tau Kappa Epsilon has returned to Northern Arizona University. Just a few days after the Gregory and Cay Woodson Regional Leadership Conference in San Francisco, California, an initiation ceremony was held welcoming 31 new men into the Bond. The ritual was led by Fraters Bryston Cutter (Rho-Upsilon, Franklin College), former Region 4 Director, Justin Donnelly (Sigma-Theta, Saint Leo Univ., Associate Region 4 Director, and Colt Wilde (Mu-Chi, Univ. of North Carolina - Wilmington), former Expansion Coordinator. The current Prytanis and Chapter Advisor from New Mexico Highlands Univ. (Iota-Chi) made the trip, and several Fraters from the University of Arizona (Kappa-Tau) drove up from Tucson.
They had several alumni in attendance as well. Frater Ron Heyman came up from Phoenix, picking up Frater Wayne Varraveto in Cottonwood on the way. Frater Matt Newton also traveled from Phoenix, and Frater George Hill drove in from Prescott. Fraters Steve Eubanks, Jeff Jones and Joel Barnett traveled across town to participate.
The new Fraters are moving quickly through the re-Chartering process. They are currently working on incorporation and non-profit status with the goal of achieving their charter by May 2009. If they meet this goal, it will be the fastest Chartering in the history of TKE.
"The newly initiated group of men at NAU is one of the most diverse groups in TKE," said Frater Justin Donnelly. "Each Frater comes from a different walk of life and they all bring something unique to the group. They are eager, strong-willed, and dedicated to making the Epsilon-Rho Colony not only the best Fraternity on NAU's campus, but are striving to be one of the best in the TKE NATION. They take 365 recruiting to the next level; having continued recruiting great men after I left and consistently pushing themselves towards greatness. There is no doubt in my mind that this group will continue to be successful. As Epsilon-Rho continues to redefine Fraternity they continue to take leaps forward in becoming a Top Teke Chapter in the near future."
As Chapter Advisor for the colony, Frater Joel Barnett is assembling a Board of Advisors. Several Fraters have expressed interest in serving on the Board, but there are still spots to be filled. The Board will meet quarterly. If you are interested in serving on the board, please contact TKE. For more information on the role of the Board, click here.
The men of Epsilon Rho colony are going to need alumni support and help to meet their goals becoming a successful chapter. Please join the Offices of the Grand Chapter in welcoming these new Fraters.
