The Grand Council, along with members of the TKE Professional Staff, met with officials at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital today.

One of the critical components of Building Better Men to Build a Better World is instilling a sense of civic duty. Service and Philanthropy are critical to this mission. Since 1899, Fraters have worked diligently to provide these two on their campuses, in their communities, and beyond.

Several times per year, the Offices of the Grand Chapter and Volunteer staff are inundated with questions like, ‘Where is this located?’ or ‘Where can I find information on that?’ Below you will find the ten most common questions fielded on phone calls, facebook messages, emails or text messages received by us.

Hundreds of college students from around the country gathered at St. Jude Children’s Hospital for a leadership conference. Tau Kappa Epsilon had 24 participants in the Greek Life track representing 24 chapters.

At 84 degrees with a heat index well into the 90’s, Fraters and staff from the Offices of the Grand Chapter went around the city of Indianapolis handing out water and fliers promoting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Tau Kappa Epsilon’s primary philanthropic partner, the staff took time out to raise awareness about the great work being accomplished at St. Jude.

Through the work of the Collegiate Advisory Committee, Tau Kappa Epsilon renewed its partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in 2008. During the last year, nine chapters raised more than $19,000 for the hospital. If nine of our 274 active chapters can raise $19,000, imagine how much the TKE Nation could raise if all chapters donated a portion of their philanthropic funds to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital!

The men of the Omicron Chapter and the women of the Ohio State Chapter of Delta Delta Delta have been recognized at the 2010 Ohio State Leadership Awards with the Outstanding Student Organization Collaboration Award. The two organizations partnered last spring quarter to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with a week of fundraising events, called "TKE Tri Delta Week."

It’s the time of year, if you haven’t already thought about it, to start planning for a service or philanthropy. Tau Kappa Epsilon has two primary philanthropic partners: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Alzheimer’s Association.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Parents magazine has named St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as the No. 1 pediatric cancer care hospital in the country. The results, based on the magazine’s survey of more than 100 children’s hospitals, appear in the February 2009 issue on newsstands nationwide January 13, 2009.
