The 62nd Conclave of Tau Kappa Epsilon International Fraternity will take place July 30 – August 2nd, 2026, in New Orleans, Louisiana (New Orleans Marriott). During each Conclave of the Fraternity, the Grand Chapter votes on proposed legislation and changes to the International Constitution and Bylaws, more commonly known as the “Black Book.”
Through emergency order, the Grand Council has extended the deadline for Conclave 2026 legislation to February 28, 2026 due to the recent website launch that delayed the announcement of this process.
Any collegiate chapter, chartered alumni association, member of the Grand Council, international TKE committee, or Past Grand Prytanis may propose amendments to any section of the Black Book, provided that the amendment(s) are received by the Offices of the Grand Chapter no later than February 28, 2026.
Please format proposals with the article and section in question, current language, and proposed change. This will expedite the process and allow for easier organization to ensure all suggestions are reviewed properly. For example:
Article I, Section 1: The name of the corporation is Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.
Proposed Change: The name of the corporation is Tau Kappa Epsilon International Fraternity.
Reason for Change: We believe that the Fraternity should recognize and celebrate our international presence.
If you are qualified to propose legislation and wish to have that legislation considered at the 2026 Conclave, please send your written proposal to:
Donald E. Aldrich
Chief Executive Officer
Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity
7439 Woodland Drive, Suite 100
Indianapolis, IN 46278
(317) 875-8353 fax
Proposed legislation must be received by Chief Executive Officer Donald E. Aldrich no later than February 28, 2026.
Once received, these pieces of legislation will be shared with the Judiciary Committee for review and organized before submission to the Grand Council. The Grand Council will then meet to review all proposals, make recommendations to the Grand Chapter, and prepare the proposals for the Conclave agenda.
During Conclave members of the Grand Chapter will be selected according to the process outlined in the Black Book to serve on the Legislative Hearing Committee. These members will consider each proposal and provide a recommendation to be given at the Second Session of the Grand Chapter.
Per the Constitution and Bylaws of Tau Kappa Epsilon, all chapters and colonies are required to be present at Conclave. Collegiate chapters must have a delegate attend the Second Session of the Grand Chapter to elect the next Grand Council, as well as vote on the proposed amendments to the Black Book. This is your opportunity to help move the Fraternity forward and provide valuable input on Tau Kappa Epsilon’s governing documents.
