2019-2021 Grand Council Applications Due June 28
INDIANAPOLIS - Applications to serve on Tau Kappa Epsilon's Grand Council are now being accepted.
Process and TimelineAccording to the Black Book: Any eligible alumnus wishing to present himself as a candidate for the Grand Council must submit an appropriate application and signed release provided by the Offices of the Grand Chapter and submit to an approved background check through the Offices of the Grand Chapter for determination of eligibility by the Judiciary Committee at least thirty (30) days in advance of the first day of Conclave for the purpose of conducting appropriate background screening for members of the corporate board of directors. To facilitate this process you must complete this online application and associated background check application no later than June 28, 2019. After background screening, you will be notified via email and provided with an opportunity to submit your credentials. Here is a timeline of important dates.

- July 12, 2019 – Deadline for the Vetting of Candidates by the Judiciary Committee
- July 19, 2019 – Credentials Submission Deadline
- August 1, 2019 – Nominations Committee Selection and Mandatory Candidate Orientation, Orlando
- August 2, 2019 – Candidate Interviews and Slating, Orlando
- August 3, 2019 – Election of Grand Officers, Orlando
- August 4, 2019 – First Newly Elected Grand Council Meeting
- September 26-28, 2019 - Grand Council Retreat Meeting
You must register for Conclave (click here to register online now) and be physically present at the mandatory candidate orientation, candidate interviews, and election of Grand Officers to be eligible for election to the Grand Council.
Background ScreeningIn connection with your suitability for serving as a Grand Officer of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity you must authorize us to request a consumer and/or investigative consumer report. Such reports may include, but are not limited to, information as to character, general reputation, personal characteristics, and mode of living; discerned through employment and education verifications; personal references and interviews; personal credit history based on reports from any credit bureau; driving history, including any traffic citations; workers’ compensation records after a conditional job offer has been extended and to the extent permitted by law; a social security number trace; present and former addresses; criminal and civil history/records; and any other public record. It is your responsibility to pay for the background screening. Fees range from $29 to $150 depending on your state and county of residence.

You understand that the information that you are furnishing will be relied upon by the Fraternity in connection with the position you are seeking. Lack of candor in your application answers may not only deem you ineligible for office, but could subject you to fraternity disciplinary action.
