2018 International Sweetheart, Sophie Tangel

INDIANAPOLIS IN. - The Offices of the Grand Chapter is proud to announce Tau Kappa Epsilon's 2018 International Sweetheart, Sophie Tangel.

Sophie is the representative of Epsilon-Kappa Chapter at Loyola University Chicago. She is a sophomore with a 3.8 GPA and is majoring in Marketing and Film & Digital Media. Sophie is on the Dean’s List, received the Presidential Scholarship and Red Cross Leadership Award, and is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She belongs to the Kappa Kappa Gamma Risk Committee and has helped to raise more than $20,000 for the St. Jude Club. She is an active volunteer for the Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation in downtown Chicago, where she worked with the director of marketing to produce a promotional video for donations; Red Cross Blood Services, and A Just Harvest soup kitchen in Chicago. She has also gone on mission trips to Costa Rica, Panama, Tanzania, and Little Haiti, where she was a summer camp teacher leader for kids ages 6-14.

In her scholarship application, Sophie shared, "I want to be TKE International Sweetheart because I want to represent such an amazing group of men—men who change lives, are world leaders, professionals, intellectuals, and most important, men who are creating better men for a better world who inspire women like me to do the same."
