Finalists for the 2010 TKE International Sweetheart Scholarship
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Sweet Six are in, finalists for the 2010 TKE International Sweetheart Scholarship. Voting will take place shortly, but for now take a sneak peak at those who may be representing the TKE interfraternally in the upcoming school year. Finalists will be notified with a formal letter in the coming days, along with their affiliate organization, and institution. In alphabetical order, here are your finalists.
Lauren Bergmann
Beta-Sigma (Univ. of Southern California)
Member of Alpha Phi
Major: Communications - 3.65 GPA
Lauren is very active with her sorority Alpha Phi, currently serving as Vice President of Recruitment. She has also served as Recruitment Junior, TKE Team Captain for “Phi Ball”, Sober Patrol and Greek Week (Champions in 2009). In addition, she actively volunteers for Meals on Wheels (since 2003) and Survivor’s Rehabilitation Foundation Annual Golf Tournament (2008-09). She seeks a degree to work in the Advertising field.
Amanda Heilmann
Pi-Upsilon (Towson Univ.)
Member of Phi Mu
Major: Special Education - 3.41 GPA
Amanda is the social committee head and assistant to recruitment coordinator with her sorority Phi Mu. She has received a volunteer award with Big Brothers Big Sisters. In addition, she volunteers with Hope Alive (Women/ Children Homeless Shelter), Guatemala Alternative Spring Break, and at an elementary school’s special education department. She seeks a degree to work with children in the special education field.
Nicole Larson
Tau-Epsilon (Univ. of Hawaii-Manoa)
NCAA Swimmer for Hawaii
Major: Family Resources & Development - 3.0 GPA
Nicole is a swimmer for the University of Hawaii-Manoa Swim Team. She is also active in the French Club and volunteers with the “Swim for Mike” (physically challenged athletes), American Cancer Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and beach clean-ups. In addition, she also donates time at local swim competitions as an official scorer/ timer and swim camps. She seeks a degree to get a Masters Degree in her chosen field of study.
Kaila Mattson
Nu-Mu (Univ. of South Alabama)
Mortar Board Honor Society
Major: Chemistry - 3.88 GPA
Kaila is a member of several honor societies including Mortar Board Honor Society (Historian), Univ. of South Alabama Honor Society (Treasurer), Phi Kappa Phi, Alpha Chi, Phi Eta Sigma, and National Society of Leadership & Success. She has co-authored two chemistry publications, an American Chemical Society member, a tutor for the USB Basketball Team, and committee chairperson for the USB Student Government Association. She seeks a Phd in Chemistry to become a college professor.
Angela Seeley
Upsilon-Delta (Saginaw Valley State Univ.)
Alpha Sigma Alpha
Major: Occupational Therapy - 3.78 GPA
Angela is the treasurer of Alpha Sigma Alpha, the Vice President of Fellowship and Service Projects for the Alpha Phi Omega Community Service Fraternity, SVSU Orientation Leader, and a member of the Student Occupational Therapy Association, among others. She volunteers for Big Brothers Big Sisters, SVSU Alternative Spring Break, Mentoring for Success, Community Village Nursing Home, and Relay for Life. She seeks a degree to become an occupational therapist and have her own practice.
Marie Worsham
Kappa-Kappa (Monmouth Univ.)
Zeta Tau Alpha
Major: Business Marketing - 3.73 GPA
Marie is the Standards Chair for Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, Peer Tutor at Monmouth, and a member of Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. She is the Student Activities Board Awareness Chair, volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, Breast Cancer Awareness Walk and Relay for Life. She seeks a degree to become a Marketing or Advertising professional in the Magazine or Music industries.
