Fraters and siblings Edward and William DeVry were the sons of a movie projector, camera, and educational film maker who founded the DeVry Corporation. The sons took the reins during the beginning of World War II and transformed the business into production of these devices for use by the armed forces, especially specialty training movies to help troops learn how to repair electrical equipment that was later used by all allies across the globe. After the war, they turned their attention to the educational side of the business and created an iteration of what we know today as DeVry University. Their innovations in education and motion picture continue today.
