Tau Kappa Epsilon is elevating our partnership with an unprecedented commitment to research at St. Jude.

On August 2, at Conclave 2026 in New Orleans, Past Grand Prytanis Mike J. McEvilly proudly announced our commitment to embark on our most ambitious fundraising commitment yet

” Our purpose remains the same, Tau Kappa Epsilon is committed to help St. Jude’s efforts to research, treat, and defeat low survival rate cancers. This commitment honors the legacy of our Frater Danny Thomas. Let’s continue creating hope for those individuals fighting for their lives,” stated McEvilly.

This commitment to St. Jude, one that will support the Immunology Department on the fifth floor of the Inspiration4 Advanced Research Center,  is the most significant philanthropic commitment of any men’s fraternity. The department plays a vital role in uncovering the molecular mechanisms of disease and translating scientific discoveries into innovative treatments and potential cures for children around the world.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Quick Facts

  • St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
  • Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
  • Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since its opening. We won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.
  • Because the majority of St. Jude funding comes from individual contributors and partners like Tau Kappa Epsilon, St. Jude has the freedom to focus on what matters most – saving kids regardless of their financial situation.
  • St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
