Frater Ernie Ernest was initiated into the Beta-Mu chapter at Bucknell University in 1967.
As a volunteer for his home chapter he served as Chapter Advisor (1972-2015) and Board of Advisors (1972-2019). Frater Ernie has served on the TKE Foundation Board since 2004. He was elected Chairman from 2010-14 and named Chairman Emeritus in 2014.
In his professional life, Frater Ernie was the President and CEO of Crown Metal Manufacturing Company, Inc. – a Chicago based metal manufacturer. He retired in 2015 and in 2025 launched a new business in real estate and franchises. He and his wife Susan split their time between Illinois and Arizona.
Frater Ernie is one of the longest standing contributors to the TKE Foundation, donating to TKE every year since his initiation. Additionally, he was a Charter Member of the Life Loyal Teke Program. He has many accolades in TKE including: Alumnus of the Year (2005), Volunteer of the Month (2009), Grand Prytanis Award (2011), TKE Foundation Fraternity for Life Award (2011) and was inducted in the Circle of Excellence (2017).
