Recommend a Teke for 2024 Awards

INDIANAPOLIS - Tau Kappa Epsilon has opened nominations for members of Tau Kappa Epsilon who should be recognized at Conclave 2024.

Collegiate members submit applications for awards annually, but alumni Fraters must be selected through a nominations process.

If you have any nominations for these awards, please complete this form and return it along with any supporting letters or documentation to the Offices of the Grand Chapter.

These nominations can be submitted via this form, mailed to Tau Kappa Epsilon ATTN: Awards, 7439 Woodland Dr Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278 or faxed to 317-875-8353.

Nominations are due May 31, 2024.


Alumni Awards

Order of the Golden Eagle: The Order of the Golden Eagle is the highest honor conferred by Tau Kappa Epsilon. The Order of the Golden Eagle recipients select this honor. The following persons only shall be considered for this honor:

  • A Past Grand Officer or a past member of the Board of Directors of the TKE Educational Foundation; or
  • A man who has given unselfish and devoted service of recognized value in the Fraternity for at least 10 years; or
  • A man whose life exemplifies the ideals of Tau Kappa Epsilon.
  • Grand Officers shall not receive this award during their term of office.

Grand Prytanis Award: The Grand Prytanis may give this award to two Fraters per year (four per biennium) who, in his opinion, have rendered the most valuable services to the Fraternity as a whole. This award shall be made by the Grand Prytanis only. Grand Officers shall not receive this award during their term of office.

The Love, Charity & Esteem Award: Established in 2024, this award is conferred upon volunteer Fraters for their outstanding and lifelong contribution to TKE. Awarded for serving our chapters, members, and local communities, this distinction is positioned as one of the highest honors to confer on a volunteer. The criteria for the award (1) the person has held volunteer position(s) in TKE for at least 10 years and (2) whose life has exemplified the ideals and values of Tau Kappa Epsilon. This award is to be granted at each Conclave or in the interim at an appropriate event approved by the Awards Committee. Two honorees may be selected by the Awards Committee each biennium. If a Grand Officer or Past Grand Officer has been selected then the Awards Committee, in its discretion, may confer one additional award for that biennium.

Order of the Silver Maple Leaf: The Order of the Silver Maple Leaf is given to an individual who (a) throughout his lifetime has exemplified the ideals of Tau Kappa Epsilon and/or (b) through his efforts, has promoted the causes of international understanding and brotherhood within or outside of the Fraternity.

Teke Alumnus of the Year: The Teke Alumnus of the Year Award is given for outstanding accomplishment and performance in the member's career or field of endeavor. Grand Officers shall not receive this award during their term of office.

Advisory Hall of Fame: This special recognition is bestowed on Chapter Advisors and key local Board of Advisors members for 10 or more years of exceptional and exemplary service to a local chapter. The recognition is awarded only occasionally and to commemorate a lifetime of service to a local TKE group.

Key Leader Award: The Grand Prytanis Key Leader Award is given to volunteers who have demonstrated exceptional service to local chapters in TKE. The award recipients are chosen by the Grand Prytanis.

Excellence in Education: The Excellence in Education recognizes an individual who has impacted the educational community through their career work with students, teachers and administrators. This award recipient is chosen by the TKE Chief Executive Officer.

Volunteer of the Year: Started by Past Grand Prytanis Bob Planck, the Volunteer of the Year recognizes those dedicated Fraters who make extraordinary commitments to our Fraternity. This award recipient is chosen by the TKE Chief Executive Officer.

Additional Awards

Salsbury-Scott Interfraternity Award: The Grand Prytanis may annually make this award to the man or woman who, in his opinion, shall have rendered the most valuable services to advance the cause of fraternities and the Greek system. The recipient shall not be required to be a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon, or of any other fraternity or sorority.

Alumni Association Recognition: Various awards for top-performing area-based and chapter-affiliated alumni associations are given as deemed appropriate by the Grand Prytanis. If you have seen outstanding work by a chartered alumni association, please list the group and provide a note as to why they are worthy of special recognition.
