TKE Announces Partnership with CredibleMind

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind -- With the incredible demand for mental health services and a severe shortage of mental health professionals in the U.S. and Canada, Tau Kappa Epsilon International Fraternity is proud to announce a partnership with CredibleMind to offer its members an evidence-based, one-stop information system for self-care and mental wellbeing.

By utilizing the CredibleMind online portal, TKE members now have secure, private access to self-assessment tools and resources to help them find information and strategies for developing resiliency and addressing moderate mental health challenges.

"Countless studies have confirmed an increasing Mental Health crisis, especially with young men who are battling loneliness, depression, and suicidal thoughts," said TKE Chief Executive Officer Donald Aldrich. "We are proud to partner with CredibleMind to support our membership in becoming the best version of themselves and strengthening their mental health."

According to the National Institute for Mental Health (NAMI), young adult males ages 18 to 25 in the U.S have the highest rate of experiencing any mental health concern (33.7%) compared to adults aged 26 to 49 years, and the highest rate of serious mental illness (11.4%). Currently, 90% of individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia by age 30 are men. The stigma of the "macho man frat guy" is a common mislabel, fraternity men work diligently to develop themselves learning what it takes to succeed, make mistakes, and grow from their fraternal experience. Additionally, young men often struggle to share their challenges and ask for help. This initiative aims to break down those barriers and remind members that they have a duty and responsibility to care for themselves and fellow members who may be struggling.

"An exceptionally important message we need to send our members is: You are not alone in your struggles, even if it feels that way," said TKE International Board President Ryan J. Vescio, Esq. "This is a small step in helping everyone live our principles of love, charity and esteem. We are here for them every step along the way."

CredibleMind addresses issues such as anxiety, stress, loneliness, depression, and life events. Their portal offers a wide variety of self-assessments, ranging from a broad-based Mental Health Profile, to targeted assessments such as "Are Your 'Off' Days a Sign of Depression," "Is Caring for Others Taking a Toll on You," and "Job Stress or Job Burnout." They offer science-backed approaches to address concerns based on each member's risk-level score.

The portal offers mental wellbeing topics with thousands of resources that include videos, articles, apps, podcasts, and more - all curated by experts and continually updated through artificial intelligence. The member experience is tailored to each visitor's learning style.

"The myriad of resources we are making available to our members is an effort to help stem the tide on mental health challenges for our chapters on college campuses and beyond," said TKE Chief Risk Officer Greg Roskopf. "Our goal in offering CredibleMind is to destigmatize mental health and make access to useful resources readily and broadly available to all our members."

TKE sees membership as an incredible opportunity to help more men find community and develop deep relationships to combat an increasingly problematic challenge in society.

The CredibleMind portal is available to TKE members at tke.crediblemind.com.
