Edward E. Daizovi

Frater Edward Daizovi was initiated into Tau Kappa Epsilon at the Alpha-Zeta Chapter at Purdue University. He received a Bachelor of Science Management (Minor in Finance) from Purdue University in May of 1990 and earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame in May of 1994. He is a former military officer and test pilot, business executive, and U.S. diplomat with extensive experience and an excellent track record. Ed speaks Spanish, French, Italian, and German.

Prior to his retirement in September 2021, he spent more than a decade as a Foreign Service Officer for the U.S. Department of State. Working overseas as an American diplomat he lead efforts to protect America and Americans, to advance our interests and values around the world, to address global challenges and to strengthen our partnerships. Throughout his career Ed has spearheaded efforts to fight poverty, hunger and disease and lead efforts to address transnational global challenges like climate change, the use of our planet’s oceans, health problems and to ensure that economic growth is broadly and inclusively shared.

In addition to his time in Washington, D.C., Ed’s overseas assignments included Mauritius, Seychelles, Rome (the Vatican), Berlin, and the Dominican Republic. In Mauritius he served as lead advisor on operational and strategic issues to further United States Government (USG) priorities and goals including Diego Garcia in Mauritius and support for the U.S. Navy and the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) in Seychelles. In Rome Ed’s work focused on partnering with the Vatican to promote human rights, the rule of law, democracy and internet freedom around the world. In Berlin he worked closely with the interagency and focused on Russia / Iran economic sanctions, non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and export control issues. His initial tour in the Foreign Service was in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs where he completed a consular tour in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Prior to joining the U.S. Department of State, Ed spent two decades in the private sector for a variety of businesses – all Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders within their respective segments. Before entering the corporate world, he served in the U.S. Army as a Chief Warrant Officer, aviator, and helicopter test pilot.

A native of New York, Ed Daizovi has been married for 31 years to Kimberlie (Kim) Daizovi. They have two daughters, Cecilia (27) & Francesca (26).

Throughout his career he has been an active member of various local, national, and international civic organizations, has a long-standing history of service to numerous religious and charitable organizations, and looks forward this opportunity to continue his life of service as a member of the Grand Council of Tau Kappa Epsilon.
