New Grand Histor Announced

INDIANAPOLIS - Venerable Grand Prytanis Christopher T. Hanson (Alpha-Pi, George Washington) is proud to announce the Grand Council naming Major General Charles Whittington (Pi-Psi, Southern Mississippi) as Grand Histor of Tau Kappa Epsilon.

Regarding Frater Whittington's appointment, Frater Hanson shared, "The Grand Council is proud to select Frater Whittington as our new Grand Histor. He has been a tremendous asset to the Grand Council since joining as an At-Large member in September 2017."

The vacancy of Grand Histor was created by the resignation of Frater Brian Montgomery (Gamma-Upsilon, Texas-Austin). Frater Montgomery resigned after being confirmed as the Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development by the U.S. Senate in June 2018. Frater Montgomery has served on the Grand Council since Sept 2011 as an At-Large Member, Grand Hegemon (2012-13) and Grand Pylortes (2013-15) and most recently, as Grand Histor (2017-18).

Venerable Grand Prytanis Hanson shared about Montgomery’s service, "Tau Kappa Epsilon is indebted to Frater Montgomery for his outstanding service on the Grand Council. He was instrumental in helping to implement the Founders Housing Fund fee to help build a stronger TKE for the future. His work as the chairman of the Grand Council Risk Committee helped TKE analyze and evaluate new risk management policies."

The naming of Frater Whittington to Grand Histor creates an open At-Large position. The Board Development Committee of the Grand Council will be reviewing candidates for the At-Large opening and will name a replacement in the coming months.
